* Level 1: Tank alerts when below 60% and gives 'Warning'

* Level 2: Tank alerts when below 40% and gives 'Alarm'

These alerts are adjustable to the users liking and I am going to go through how to do so:

1. To get to the alerts, first log in to the meter.me app

2. Next you will want to select the 'actions' icon on the bottom right of the app

If you only wish to disable the alert you may select the green button next to the alert

If you would like to keep the alert but change the threshold of each alert (or remove a threshold)

* Select the alert you wish to change

* To remove a threshold, select the minus button next to the one you wish to remove

* To change the threshold level of the alert, select into the threshold

* Then select the threshold button to adjust the level percentage

* You may also select a buffer percentage (utilize this if your water level remains around the threshold level as to avoid creating duplicate alerts with water movement)

* When you are satisfied with your adjustments select 'Save' in the upper right of the alerts page and this will save your updated default alert preferences.

1. Open the mobile app

2. Go to the components tab (bottom left)

3. Select the component you want to access data for

4. Select the graph widget of that component

5. Then choose the time period you need data for

   1. The CSV file will include the data for the time period displayed in the graph

   2. Use the time tabs (Day, Week, Month, and Year) and scroll to locate the time period you need

6. Then click the “CSV -> Mail" icon

7. This will send a CSV file of that component’s raw data for the selected period to your email.

Additional important information:

• You will continue to receive existing alerts you have set for tank minimum and maximum levels.  However, you will not be able to edit or create new alerts until you update to this latest version of the app.

To set up a meter.me alert:

1. Open your meter.me app

2. Select the Actions tab on the bottom bar (far right)

3. Select Edit in the upper right corner

4. Select + in the upper left corner

5. Make sure the toggle at the top of the screen is set to Alert 

6. From here you’ll see a selection of alert types

7. Select the alert type you want to set up

8. Select the component you want the alert for

9. Fill out the remaining fields (see specifics below)

10. Select Save

Types of alerts

For tanks, we offer three types of alerts:

• Minimum level: alerts you when your tank drops below a certain level

• Maximum level: alerts you when your tank rises above a certain level

• Sudden drop: alerts you when your tank level drops too much too quickly

For wells, we offer one type of alert:

• Minimum level: alerts you when your well drops below a certain level

For water meters, we offer one type of alert (using app v1.12.8 or later):

• Usage over time: alerts you when your water usage is higher than expected (i.e. when more than a certain number of gals or liters run through your water meter in a specific amount of time).

Level Alerts (Min and Max) Specific Alert fields

1. Define an alert threshold

   1. For min level alerts, this defines the minimum level your tank should reach before you receive an alert. For max level alerts, this is the maximum level your tank should reach before you receive an alert.

   2. You can define the threshold by percentage or volume; to adjust, switch the toggle at the top of the threshold selection screen.

   3. Then move the slider up and down or tap the threshold input to enter a number.

   4. Once you’ve selected the threshold you want, select Back

2. Choose your delivery method for that alert threshold 

   1. Tap Delivery 

   2. Then select which delivery method(s) you want (see more on the options available below)

3. Choose the priority level of that alert threshold

   1. Tap the priority level you want to assign to that alert threshold

   2. Options include: Okay, warning, alarm, critical

4. Tap plus and repeat to add another alert threshold

Sudden Drop Specific Alert fields

1. Select the Percentage

   1. The percentage represents the amount the tank needs to drop to trigger the alert.

2. Select a Time period

   1. The time period represents the amount of time in which the tank level needs to drop by the defined percentage or more to trigger an alert

Usage Over Time Specific Alert fields

1. Select the Usage

   1. This can be any number of gals or liters. The amount you want to be alerted about passing through your water meter within the Time selected (see below). 

2. Select the Time

   1. This is the amount of time in which the system should check for usage that exceeds what you’ve specified (see above).

• What is Nudge?

  • When you enable Nudge, you will be notified again if the specified alert condition has not recovered by the next nudge period

  • The nudge period options available right now are daily and weekly

  • Right now, this option is only available for Minimum and Maximum level alerts

• What is Alert On Recovery?

  • When you enable Alert On Recovery, we will notify you when the alert condition has recovered. For example, when the tank level has risen again above the minimum level.

  • Right now, this option is only available for Minimum and Maximum level alerts

• What is a Buffer?

  • In short, a buffer prevents repetitive alerts about the same event.

  • Under normal conditions, component levels can fluctuate in small amounts. If the level is near an alert level, these fluctuations may cause repeated alerts about the same event. 

  • When a buffer is defined, the component level must reach the buffer level before the alert condition is considered recovered. Another alert can only be triggered if the component level recovers and then reaches the alert condition again. If it stays within the buffer range, a new alert will not be triggered.

• What delivery methods are available?

  • Push: sends a push alert on your mobile phone

  • SMS: send a text message alert to your device(s) 

    • SMS or text message alerts are only available if you’ve entered your phone number into the app. If you have not, you will be prompted to do so when you select the SMS option.

  • Email: sends an alert to your email inbox
